#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. To replenish the Yenisey biological resources, the Siberian Production and Geological Association (PGA) of the Rosgeologiya holding released about ten thousand sterlet fry into the river.
This year, the Siberian PGO is conducting prospecting and appraisal work for solid minerals in the Yenisey basin and tributaries under several projects. By Rosgeo order, the company is exploring the Verhnerudikovsky area in Krasnoyarsk region for the presence of polymetallic ores and the Garyevsky area for ore gold. In addition, in Tyva, geologists are evaluating the Pii-Hem region.
The release of fry is a mandatory environmental event for exploration companies.
“We are doing this with pleasure, because we live on this land, we love our region and we want to pass it successful, beautiful and environmentally healthy to our children who are”, said Konstantin Penzel, managing director.
Previously, Norilsk fish farmers released nelma fry into lake Melkoe. Until 2033, the Norilsk-Taimyr energy company will release three million sturgeon fry annually into the Yenisey. The Nornickel regularly replenishes valuable fish species in the Taimyr reservoirs. Scientists believe that in the future it will be possible to resume commercial fishing in the Yenisey.
