#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. A large-scale media project of the Russian Geographical Society is dedicated to wildlife and careful attitude to the environment. The main condition is that the photos must be taken only in Russia. The main prize is 250 thousand rubles.
The rules of the photo contest do not have any restrictions on the participants’ age and place of residence. Popular and already beloved categories have been announced: Landscape, Wild Animals, Birds, Magic of the Elements, Russia in Faces, Living Archive, Art of Wildlife (Art Photo), Macroworld, Shot on a Smartphone.
In honor of the 180th anniversary of the Russian Geographical Society, the category 180 Wonders of Russia has been established for the first time. The Most Beautiful Desktop Wallpapers category has been announced again. The works of ten finalists will be pre-installed in the Russian operating system Astra Linux.
For young photographers under 16, the Russian Geographical Society is holding a separate competition – The Most Beautiful Country Through Children’s Eyes. It has four categories: Landscape, Animal World, Natural Phenomena, Macroworld. Works can be made either with a camera or a smartphone. The winner in each nomination will receive 100 thousand rubles, TASS reports.
The partners of the photo competition will support the participants in individual categories with special prizes. Internet users will also be able to choose their favorite: the now traditional open vote for the best photo will be held on the photo competition website, and the audience sympathy prize will be awarded based on its results. The winner will be determined from among the finalists of all competition categories.
Works for the photo competitions are accepted on the websites The Most Beautiful Country and The Most Beautiful Country Through Children’s Eyes.
The jury of the photo contest includes wildlife photographers Sergey Gorshkov, Marco Urso, Andrew Parkinson and Igor Metelsky, photographer, author of documentary and scientific-educational projects Olga Michi, actors and directors Sergey Garmash and Vladimir Mashkov, Russian cosmonaut Ivan Wagner, director of visual content for TASS Ilya Lazarev, and president of the Russian Geographical Society Sergey Shoygu.
Earlier, we reported that a branch of the Russian Geographical Society was opened in Igarka – today, there are already 12 RGS points in Krasnoyarsk region; Norilsk was noted twice according to the results of the RGS Geographical Dictation – in a year, the local branch of the Russian Geographical Society has implemented 16 projects.
