#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. During the coronavirus pandemic, Dmitry Pelevin was stuck in France. At that time, his family was in New Zealand. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, aircraft flights were suspended, and the traveler had to look for an alternative.
Pelevin bought a yacht and sailed from the Caribbean island of Martinique to Panama. Then he passed through the Panama canal and out into the ocean. All in all, the traveler sailed seven thousand miles before reaching Gulf Harbor in New Zealand.
Dmitry wanted to meet his family earlier – in October, when his son had a birthday. But difficulties arose along the way.
“The yacht’s engine had broken near Panama and I had to sail to Tahiti with almost no engine. Then the main sail came off, and I had to sail with only one. After that the cyclone season began, and I got stuck between the two ones”, the traveler explained.
By the way, it should be noted that Pelevin has been sailing for ten years. However, he had never gone to sea before – it was just a dream.
“Now I’m telling my son about my adventure, and then we’ll go to the beach. We are making plans for the holidays, everything is going well”, he said.
