#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In 2024, serial production of a bio-installation for air purification may begin in Russia. The system passes air through moss, which moisturizes and cleans the air masses of dust, formaldehyde and other hazardous substances.
As Tatyana Krupnova, candidate of chemical sciences, associate professor of the Ecology and Chemical Technology Department at South Ural State University, reported to TASS, the launch of mass production is scheduled for next summer. Now there is an experimental stage, at which ideal materials are selected and shortcomings are eliminated.
This is the first time a bio-installation in this design has been assembled in Russia, and possibly in the world, the specialist noted.
“The assembled copy is intended for indoors, but the installation can be scaled to the level of populated areas. The air is purified by pumping through a phytomodule, which contains living moss and plants. The device can also monitor air quality and humidify it, and can be built into the smart home system”, she clarified.
According to the associate professor, the creators have patented various versions of the module itself and software. Moreover, not only home, but also outdoor installations can operate all year round and have anti-vandal protection.
