#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Norilsk people have been following the fate of a lonely swan on Dolgoye lake for several weeks. Its flock flew to warm lands long ago, but this one remained.
Rescuers have repeatedly tried to catch the bird with nets and with the help of special equipment, but so far unsuccessfully.
“When the swan enters the net, it tears it. There are no special means to sedate the bird and deliver it to the place of temporary staying. If caught, it will be placed on the territory of the nursery, where pets are located”, said Zemera Spirina, state inspector of the regional Ministry of Ecology, to the Severny Gorod TV channel.
At the foster station, the swan will be examined by veterinarians. If the bird is healthy, the Nornickel company will help send it to Royev Ruchey flora and fauna park.
Experts note that, despite the fact that the swan has been on the lake for a long time, it feels great. It feeds on what it finds in the lake: algae, crustaceans, molluscs. He has enough strength to fly from one part of the lake to another.
Earlier, we told that a bearded owl, one of the largest owls, flew to a Kayerkan resident’s balcony. Also that one of the most beautiful birds in Russia, the kloktun duck, was photographed on Taimyr this summer.
