#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Acting rector of Polar State University (PSU) Yevgeny Golubev spoke about the factors that help 98 percent of university graduates get a well-paid job in their specialty and successfully realize themselves in the profession.
Evgeny Golubev first of all noted the uniqueness of Norilsk and its life intensity:
“Norilsk is a very important city for the whole country. The intensity of life, industry, nearness to the Arctic – all this gives our students the opportunity to participate in practical projects, in technologies creation. For example, our first-year students designed the whole building – a ready-made concept”.
The university employs teachers who not only teach, but also work in production, and are also active in scientific activities. In addition, students from the northernmost university in the country have the opportunity to exchange experience and knowledge with universities from other regions of Russia. The PSU has strong financial support for students, such as scholarships, the Professional Start program, and so on.
Under the Professional Start program, students can work in their specialty, gain practical experience and a fairly good salary.
The university has flexible learning formats and powerful experience of specialists. Students also take an active part in the life and development of Norilsk.
“The university plans new programs in interesting areas, for example, the digitalization of mining. Many of our programs have the quality mark of Nornickel, and they are assembled according to the employer’s features – these are systems of 500-600 competencies. We are preparing a program on manufacturing technologies, because our industrial partners use additive information technologies, design, in order to carry out import substitution”.
The university website is being updated, and a detailed description of all educational programs will be presented there.
