Nornickel’s copper plant preparing for major overhaul

The company's polar division summed up the production results for December.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Mining enterprises fulfilled the ore extraction plan by 104 percent. Nickel value in the ore is 102 percent, copper – 100 percent.

The Talnah enrichment plant fulfilled the plan for processing ore raw materials: it produced 100 percent of copper and 98.8 percent of nickel. The Norilsk concentrator received 101 percent of copper in concentrate and 95 percent of nickel.

The copper plant fulfilled 95 percent of its obligations to produce and ship cathode copper, while platinum group metals shipping is done by 116 percent. The Nadezhda metallurgical plant fulfilled the plan for matte production by 108 percent.

In the second half of January, the Vanyukov Furnace No. 3 production line major repair will begin there, which will last until the end of March.
