#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. One of the discussion topics was the issue of imported equipment and spare parts supplies.
As Nikolay Utkin, senior vice president and head of the Norilsk Division, noted, NPR enterprises have a large share of imported equipment, both stationary and machines, equipment, mechanisms:
“We’ve conducted an analysis which shows that almost 60 percent of the equipment at our enterprises was produced in the EU and the USA, therefore we are strengthening the position of a domestic manufacturer in front of a Western one. Now we can talk about the first achieved results of a large work on the search and selection of analogues. As part of the mining process, it was possible to achieve the replacement of up to 80 percent of self-propelled diesel equipment with those manufactured in Russia and China. In terms of power equipment, 100 percent of positions are provided with spare parts and a reserve of Russian production. For the rest of the necessary materials, we also found a large number of potential analogues made in Russia, Belarus, and China”.
More than 75 percent of domestically produced equipment was included in the implementation of strategic investment projects, such as, for example, the Sulfur Program. I am sure that we will find ways for the rest of the points”, Nikolay Utkin emphasized.
Now construction work is underway at the Nadezhda metallurgical plant, where more than 340 units of special equipment are involved, more than three thousand people from four contractors. There are no plans to reduce the number of employees – on the contrary, the plans are to increase the staff to five thousand people by the summer.
