#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In Moscow, at the site of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RUIE), the final of the second season of the GR-accelerator project, organized by Nornickel with the participation of the Center for Regional Development and Business Technologies of the RUIE, took place. As the demo day part, the project expert commission members were presented with the work results of the finalist teams from Norilsk and Monchegorsk, as well as the Pechenga district of the Murmansk region.
The goal of the program in 2023 was to organize systematic work to support investment projects by representatives of municipalities, taking into account the implementation of a support system for new investment projects in the constituent entities.
The program ran from September to December 2023. The participants included representatives of municipalities, resource supply organizations, territorial development agencies, and business communities.
The projects under development concerned private investment in the fields of medicine, ecology, ski tourism and winter sports in Norilsk, as well as in the service sector in the Murmansk region.
Nornickel vice president Andrey Grachev emphasized the GR accelerator goal to reduce the distance between small and medium-sized businesses and government officials.
“The accelerator is a course to show how this happens in our company”, he noted in his speech.
The event was attended by the Murmansk region governor Andrey Chibis. The region head noted that, with the Russian president support, the Arctic zone’s preferential tax regimes and the priority development territory The Arctic Capital were launched in the Murmansk region, thanks to which the territories of the subject are dynamically developing.
The Norilsk delegation was led by the City Council chairman Alexander Pestryakov who presented the final presentation of the city’s investment potential and the work of the GR accelerator team in the municipality, as well as briefly spoke about the business projects that reached the finals. Three of the four finalists from Norilsk presented their projects to experts in person.
