The 16th Mining and Geological Forum and MINEX Russia exhibition took place in Moscow from 6 to 8 October. This year the forum was organized in a mixed format: more than 100 speakers with their presentations performed both in the halls and remotely.
The IX conference of Micromine users (Micromine is a mining and geological information system used in the Norilsk Nickel group of companies) was held within the framework of the forum. At the conference, the specialists of the mine surveying service of the Nornickel Polar Division made a report on using mobile laser scanning systems with subsequent processing in Micromine software. They shared their experience of innovations and talked about new equipment used at the enterprises of the Polar Division: mobile and stationary laser scanners, quadcopters, tacheometers, digital surveying points.
“This is a very good practice when mining professionals can get together, listen to speakers’ reports, discuss the latest news of the mining and geological industry, offer their ideas and get first-hand information,” said one of the Norilsk delegates to the forum, head of the Nornickel Polar Division’s Mining Administration Mine Surveying Center’s mine surveying support department Andrey Abramov.
This is not the first time the company has participated in the MINEX forum. As a reminder, at MINEX Russia – 2019, Nornickel took gold and bronze for the System for fixing ore-containing elements on the conveyor belt of concentration plants project.
