#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Nornickel ranked fifth in the Top 50 biggest mining companies in the world according to the specialized international online magazine Mining.com. The company’s market capitalization was $47.7 billion at the end of the second quarter of this year.
“While trading on Western markets in Russian stocks have been halted, the country’s miners, much like the rouble and the Moscow Stock Exchange, have proved resilient. (…) it is remarkable that the palladium, nickel and copper producer Nornickel has managed to show gains so far in 2022”, noted the magazine.
The Nornickel is the world’s biggest palladium and high-grade nickel producer and a leading producer of copper, platinum, cobalt and rhodium. Britain’s personal sanctions against Vladimir Potanin didn’t affect the Company’s work: counterparties fulfill all obligations to the company. Today, the Nornickel continues to implement major investment projects at its production sites and builds up its human resources potential. Up to six thousand people are planned to be hired by the Norilsk Division alone this year.
The Nornickel’s plants also continue to exceed their targets for the ores and metals’ extraction. In addition, the Company is actively working on mines’ development.
