#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Vladimir Burmatov, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Ecology, during his visit to Norilsk identified two important issues: the quality of life and the quality of the city environment. In his opinion, it directly depends on them whether new personnel will appear in Norilsk, including highly qualified ones, who will implement the renovation program. An equally important question for young people is whether to come here, whether to stay in Norilsk.

“A good step in terms of ecology has been made, a very convincing case has been demonstrated, which needs to be studied further. In August-September, we will definitely return to this conversation. In the State Duma, we will consider these points earlier, in the spring they can be accepted if everything goes well”, Vladimir Burmatov told reporters.
He explained that the meeting in the State Duma is necessary to help the authorities in the renovation of Norilsk:
“What Nornickel and Norilsk are doing today certainly deserves support. The company assumes colossal obligations – more than 80 billion rubles and another 150 billion more as an additional decision of the company president Vladimir Potanin. Such an initiative requires full support at the federal level to resolve issues related to legislation”.
Earlier, Vladimir Burmatov expressed his conviction that the future of Norilsk is not a shift camp, but a dynamically developing modern territory.
