#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The first planning meeting for the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War was held at the city administration, where participants discussed various organizational, patriotic, and creative activities related to this significant milestone.
“This year, Theater square will serve as the main venue for the Great Victory celebrations. However, in keeping with tradition, public festivities and various activities will also be held at Komsomolskaya square on May 9”, wrote Dmitry Karasev, the head of Norilsk, on his Telegram channel. “Additionally, we will be utilizing the area near the Norilsk – City of Labor Valor stele”.
In addition to these festivities, we plan to launch a historical route. This will involve a municipal bus service where intriguing information about our city will be shared at each stop. Most likely? It will be route 7.
It’s noteworthy that in 2025, after a brief hiatus, bus routes 7a and 7b resumed service in Norilsk. These buses travel from the bread factory along Lenin prospect and Talnahskaya street to the Arctica sports palace. In previous decades, notably during the 1970s and 1980s, the seventh route ran from Nansen street to the Zapolyarny mine, marking an important chapter in the city’s history.
Earlier, This Is Taimyr launched an extensive project called Norilsk Stories of Victory, which included the publication of a detailed report about one of the heroes from the previously shared narratives of the Great Patriotic War.
