Norilsk to celebrate Polar Bear Day

February 26, 2025

The educational center invites residents to join the celebration in honor of the Arctic giant.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The children’s center for environmental education White Bear welcomes everyone to its special event: International Polar Bear Day. The celebration will take place on March 2 at the Youth Center in Norilsk.

The White Bear environmental education center has assembled a large library focused on the North, ecology, polar bears, and other Arctic inhabitants. Some of the books planned for upcoming giveaways will even be signed by the authors for the lucky lottery winners.

In honor of Polar Bear Day, library specialists have organized a quiz with a guaranteed prize draw. The Sunday festivities will also include performances by the Brass Band from the Kayerkan children’s art school and the dance group Nadezhda from the Palace of Creativity for Children and Youth. Additionally, there will be animation workshops hosted by the Rodina cinema complex, sand painting activities, crafting souvenirs from recycled plastic, and a virtual journey with the Norilsk Tourism Development Center.

Throughout the event, there will be a free toy exchange zone organized by the charitable foundation 69 Parallel.
