#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Golden Chicken is the story about how a wolf adopted a chicken, and a fox almost ate the “son”, ends with a happy ending, like all fairy tales, especially New Year’s ones. The production was created on the small stage of the Polar Drama by actor and director Denis Chainikov based on his own script.
Petya the chicken, hatched from a golden egg, is played by Yaroslav Surzhenko. The kid is naive and does not understand that the Fox, played by Daria Dorogotovtseva, wants to deceive him and then eat him. The wolf, played by the director of the production, Denis Chainikov, is trying to save Petya.
A seemingly simple story reveals many meanings: about the relationship between children and parents, about accepting loved ones for who they are.
“Any child can become loved. Any adult can love a child, whether golden or not… The theme is eternal, family, because it’s about love”, notes Denis Chainikov.
Denis has been creating interactive stories for children for many years; this is the master’s eighth independent work. In his work on kind and sincere performances, he is helped not only by the acting and production team, but also by his wife, actress of our theater Galina Savina.
It’s difficult to combine directing with acting, the author admits: “At first I almost created Hamlet out of it, then I made it easier. What happened is for the viewer to judge. We came out to them with an open visor, we sincerely wanted to do everything honestly”.
Tickets for The Golden Chicken have already been sold out at the Norilsk theater until January 6th. But there is good news: the performance will remain in the theatre’s repertoire.
Earlier, the Norilsk Drama premiered The Story of Mowgli. The performance for children and adults will run until January 8.
