#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Norilsk Museum is participating in a unique online exhibition Inspired by Pushkin, which was organized by the Russian Museum together with the Association of Art Museums of Russia for the poet’s 225th anniversary. 55 museums from all over the country joined the project. Among the paintings, watercolors and graphic works there are many little-known works from Bryansk, Vologda, Elabuga, Murmansk, Syktyvkar, Magnitogorsk, Yalta, Yuzhno-Sahalinsk and other cities.
“The digital format will allow viewers, regardless of their location, to experience a rich cultural heritage. Illustrators, from classics to modern artists, in their works not only convey the content of Pushkin’s texts, but also carefully recreate the atmosphere, spirit and character of the era in which they were written”, says the project’s website.
The art collection of the Norilsk Museum contains a series of drawings for Pushkin’s historical drama Boris Godunov, made by the painter and graphic artist Vladimir Minayev. Six of them have been selected for the digital exhibition.
The Norilsk Museum has been cooperating with the Russian Museum for a long time – masterpieces of painting have been brought to Norilsk from the world’s largest repository of Russian art twice: in 2018 it was the exhibition Holiday in Russian, in 2021 – New Life Builders.
