NordStar aircraft put on Norilsk HC uniform

November 05, 2024

The aircraft arrived in Norilsk from Nizhny Novgorod in a new livery.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In honor of the event, the airline prize draw started today, the results of which will be announced on its social networks.

The Boeing 737-800 has been dressed in unique “clothes”. On October 30, the updated aircraft made its first flight to Norilsk from Nizhny Novgorod, bringing hockey players home from an away series.

NordStar airlines, remaining the Norilsk airport’s base carrier, actively supports the development of sports on the territory. The company says this is important for the younger generation.

“The new hockey livery symbolizes the importance of a healthy lifestyle and reminds us that even in the harshest natural conditions there is room for great achievements and sports victories. The aircraft livery design embodies the essence of northern hockey: strength, perseverance and team spirit. The tail of the aircraft features a symbol of strength and fortitude, spirit and steadfastness of the world’s northernmost hockey club – the head of a growling polar bear”, the company notes.

The aircraft’s fuselage and winglets are decorated with stylized moments of exciting hockey matches. Images of players in moments of intense play add dynamism and strength to every flight, the airline believes. And the puck flying into the opponent’s goal reminds us of the determination and desire to win inherent in the players of the Norilsk hockey club. You can also see an ornament on the aircraft’s engines, made in the style of northern folk motifs. The pattern recalls the rich cultural tradition of the northern peoples, their art and connection with nature. Each element of the livery – from the mighty bear to the delicate ornament – is combined into a single harmonious picture.

On October 30, a ceremonial meeting of the first flight of the aircraft in the new hockey livery took place at the Norilsk airport. In honor of the event, all departing passengers were given gifts and coupons for participation in a drawing of souvenirs from NordStar airlines at the check-in counters (the drawing will take place on its social networks). And the Norilsk hockey club’s mascot, the northern polar bear Bushai, took pictures with those who wanted to and also presented gifts.

From this day on, all passengers on the flight departing on an airplane in the new hockey livery will be given memorable souvenirs from the airline and the Norilsk hockey club.

“During our cooperation, NordStar airlines has proven itself to be an exceptionally reliable and loyal partner. This is a great success for HC Norilsk. NordStar not only ensures high standards of transportation and comfort for our team members during the difficult schedule of the regular VHL championship, but also finds opportunities for creative solutions. The airplane livery dedicated to HC Norilsk takes our cooperation with NordStar to a new level. I thank the airline’s managers for their reverent attention to our club and for such an impressive event”, commented Evgeny Nikitin, general director of the Norilsk hockey club.

“We strive to support sports initiatives and inspire residents to new achievements. We express our deep gratitude to the management of the Norilsk hockey club for their continued support and cooperation: their dedication to the cause and desire to win make our common projects possible and successful. Thank you for walking shoulder to shoulder with us on this important and significant path. Let this plane become a symbol of faith in the strength and spirit of our hockey players, who prove every day that everything is possible. It serves as a symbol of unity and support, a reminder that, regardless of distances and weather conditions, we are always close to our athletes and fans”, noted Leonid Mohov, NordStar airlines’s general director.
