#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The sixth in a row Night of the Arts in Norilsk will be held on November 3 from 18 to 22 hours. Due to the restriction measures related to the coronavirus, the event changes its format for the first time: from a mass event it turns into an ‘underground’ and ‘in apartment’ one. The theme of this year’s action is “In-apartment art!”
“We will tell you about the unprecedented development of creativity and handicrafts in apartments and workshops during the period of isolation. As part of the action, offline and online Norilsk masters will share their art or acquired hobby, which brings joy and happiness. The participants will find a hobby to their liking, learn new things, and have a pleasant time with creative pursuits”, said Natalya Fedyanina, director of the Norilsk Museum.
19 creative platforms will be open for Norilsk residents, including three museum ones: the Art gallery, the Norilsk Museum and the PolArt residence. According to the organizers, the offline format will be very limited in the number of participants, but in the Internet version you can visit all places at the same time.
So, for example, in the Art gallery at 6 pm Fluid Art will be held – a master class on the creation of works using the liquid acrylic technique. The gallery will open the Space of Form and Color exhibition in works of abstract art from the funds of the Norilsk Museum. At the Norilsk Museum, from 7 pm, 11 photographers will present their view of life in the Arctic at the TaimyrPhoto of the Year 2020 annual regional photo exhibition. The masters of photography will conduct a series of portrait photography master classes for the event guests. In the PolArt-residence at 20 o’clock the (UN)Real project from the field of contemporary art will start, it will be presented by the Association of Norilsk Designers ANOD. Also, designers will conduct a master class on creating their own statement in the format of a poster on the pandemic topic.
At the same time, an online program will unfold with a series of ‘apartment’ master classes, from hand-made souvenirs to own works of art: Firebird’s Feather, Symbol of 2021, Christmas Toy, Northern Souvenir, Guitarist and others.
We add that last year’s action was called Arctic Siberiada and was dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Krasnoyarsk region.
