#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The opening of a historical club took place at the Taimyr Museum of Local Lore in Dudinka, in which the Taimyr capital’s schoolchildren and students can become participants.
“The club operates within the Nornickel company’s grant program, and this year, its activities will be devoted to the theme of the Great Northern Expedition”, the deputy director for scientific work Vladimir Rubitelev explained.
He said that within a year the children would develop a VR excursion, stage a museum performance in honor of the polar explorers Vasily and Tatyana Pronchishchev, and also work on research papers, which they would later combine into a common collection.
“The VR excursion will include three locations: a museum, a monument to Hariton Laptev, which the guys will build themselves in the form of a guria (a structure made from a pile of stones), and a memory bridge”, explained Vladimir. “Our employees will prepare texts with the guys, teach them how to film and edit the material. Next, the videos will be combined, and in the fall we plan to present a joint project of the club members and our employees. Every museum visitor will be able to take a virtual educational tour”.
At the moment, there are about 60 young citizens in the club, but the number of places is unlimited, and everyone can join the ranks of researchers.
Earlier, we reported that in the Taimyr Museum of Local Lore, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Reindeer Herder’s Day celebration, the exhibition Nomads of Taimyr opened.
