#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The annual regional competition Preservation of National Traditions has ended in Taimyr. This was reported by the press service of Taimyr.
The competition purpose is to respect traditions and develop the unique culture, languages and spiritual values of the indigenous peoples of the North. The competition was held in three categories: National Traditions and Culture for Descendants, Fishermen Dynasty and Reindeer Herding Nomadic Family.
At the qualifying stage of the competition, which took place from July 17 to October 31, in each locality, jury members assessed the families’ compliance with national rituals, customs and traditions, the ability to prepare national cuisine, the arts and crafts originality, the participants’ activity in the settlement’s public life, their work efficiency, etc. As a result of this round, six winners were identified.
At the second stage, the district competition commission assessed the quality of the presentation and submitted materials, and also analyzed feedback from settlement administrations or public associations about them.
According to the results, Emilia Yar from the village of Nosok won in the nomination National Traditions and Culture for Descendants. In the nomination Fishermen Dynasty the best was Dmitry Bettu from the village of Kresty. Svetlana Chuprina from the Popigai village took part in the Reindeer Herding Nomadic Family nomination, and rightfully took first place.
The competition winners will be awarded diplomas and valuable prizes – smartphones. Participants who take second and third places will receive diplomas and multicookers.
