#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Murmansk Trade Sea Port (MTSP) has increased the volume of coastal (domestic) cargo transshipment.
At the end of ten months of 2023, the volume of cabotage cargo processed at the Murmansk Trade Sea Port exceeded 1.2 million tons. During the same period last year, Murmansk port workers processed 813 420 tons of coastal cargo.
“It is clear that over the past year we have seriously increased the volume of handling coastal that goes in the Arctic direction, which is invariably one of the key ones in the enterprise’s activities. This is inert cargo – crushed stone and sand, as well as general cargo – various machinery and equipment. Thus, we are making our significant contribution to the development of the Arctic and the Northern Sea Route”, said Vitaly Vlasov, director of production at MTSP JSC.
The Murmansk Trade Sea Port JSC is the largest stevedoring company in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, part of the National Transport Company. It provides year-round navigation for ships with a displacement of up to 200 thousand tons. The port’s facilities are designed for bulk and general cargo of a wide range, including large-tonnage and long-length cargo. The Murmansk port introduces the best available technologies in the field of transport logistics and ecology, takes an active part in the socially important projects support and implementation, the MTSP’s press service reports.
