#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Over the weekend, the Miner’s Day celebration was solemnly held in the Big Norilsk. The holiday is federal and fully relates to the mining industry of Nornickel.
On the eve of the holiday, the Nornickel’s best industry representatives received awards, the miners were congratulated by the first persons of the region, the city and the company.
Talnah (one of the Big Norilsk districts – a mining area) has traditionally become the main venue for the Miner’s Day celebration. A real holiday complex has been set up here. On Saturday morning, activities for the youngest were opened, a real sports carousel of football fights, beach volleyball, street basketball, darts, power competitions took place at the new stadium.
The festive concert of Norilsk creative teams began under the motto “Bring the holiday to grass!”. This time the soloists and vocal groups of the Norilsk Palace of Culture undertook to issue concert volumes.
Then the artists on the stage were replaced by the first persons of the city and the company with congratulations. They noted that Miner’s Day is indeed a significant date on the calendar for most of those present on the square and, of course, for those who are on shift at that moment.
A good gift to the miners and the culmination of the holiday was the singer Polina Gagarina’s performance in Talnah. The star immediately admitted that she was somewhat mistaken, having listened to weather forecasts and wrapped up in layers – the reality turned out to be much warmer, including the Norilsk people’s hospitality:
“I admire your work, your courage. I wish you health, long life and may every day bring you real joy”.
