#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The first face-to-face stages of the Live Classics International Competition for Young Readers have started in Norilsk. Participants select their favorite passage from the prose, which is included in the school curriculum, and read it aloud. The finalists will receive vouchers to the International children’s center Artek, and the super final of the competition will be held for the first time in St. Petersburg.
“Classroom and school stages of the competition are the beginning of the reading marathon, which lasts almost five months. In February, more than two million teenagers from 85 regions of Russia begin to fight for the title of the best reader in the country”, the organizers said.
The best reciters go to the school stage. There, acting skills are assessed by a professional jury, so reading a prose passage by heart is one of the prerequisites.
In regions where the epidemic situation does not allow for face-to-face stages, schoolchildren can participate in the project online at a special platform for conducting online stages. It can be accessed through the curators’ personal accounts. It is necessary to book the time of the stage in this format in advance.
The winners of the online competition will go straight to the regional stage and will have the opportunity to perform in the super final on Palace square in St. Petersburg, as well as win valuable prizes: smartphones, e-books, educational courses and much more. You do not need to register on the website to take part in the online competition. The show will take place on social networks. Teenagers from 10 to 17 years old, students of 5-11 grades compete.
“You only need to post one video one to five minutes long on one social network. In the post, you information about the participant should be indicated: last name and first name, age, region, title of the work. It’s necessary to put the hashtag #живаяклассика2021 under the post. Voting for the video will last until March 1”, the organizers said.
