#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The title of the Taimyr Museum of Local Lore guest’s lecture speaks for itself: In the Footsteps of Ivan Tolstouhov. Russian Monuments on the Northwestern Coast of the Taimyr Peninsula.
Everyone who wants to lift the veil of the mystery of the northern territories development in the 17th century, see the first northern lands maps, and also hear first-hand information from the archaeological expedition head who conducted research in Taimyr was invited to the lecture by archaeologist Danil Lysenko.
The lecture was held at the exposition Following the North Wind, to the Earth Edge, which presents exhibits found during excavations in 2016-2021.
Dudinka museum workers keep on talking about other guests of their institution. For example, about the fact that this year, within the project On the Roads of the First. Bering Expeditions, Moscow teenagers from school No. 709 will follow the routes of the famous polar explorer.
“Journey is a movement towards something new. And the expedition along the Bering route is a movement towards the past and the future. Studied and at the same time unknown. These are tests. These are discoveries. This is unity with oneself, with nature, with the history of our vast Motherland”, the organizers describe the event.
The trip participants will also visit the Taimyr capital, its museum of local lore with its unique exhibits. Recently, researchers from the Taimyr Museum of Local Lore accepted another 229 new historical items, including manuscripts and autobiographical novels by the Nenets poetess, prose writer and translator Lyubov Komarova-Nenyang.
