January 09, 2025

The city plans to reconstruct cultural and historical heritage sites, as well as public spaces.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The program of the Krasnoyarsk founding 400th anniversary preparation and celebration has been approved in the Krasnoyarsk region. The document contains measures for the development of the economy, social sphere, transport, landscaping, improving the environment and other areas. You can get acquainted with it on the regional legal information portal.

The anniversary will be celebrated in 2028, and by this year the regional center should be significantly transformed.

“For example, in Krasnoyarsk it is planned to reconstruct the opera and ballet theater, build a federal Youth House, a Talent Development Center, the cultural space Surikov Center, a multifunctional physical education and health complex for adaptive sports and other facilities”, said Tatyana Magdibur, minister of economy and regional development of the region.

By the anniversary, the regional capital plans to launch metro-tram lines and new eco-friendly buses, and improve more than a thousand hectares of parks, squares and public spaces, the regional Ministry of Economy reports.

It is also planned to restore 51 cultural heritage sites, including the 18th-century Church of the Intercession, the houses of the notary Stavrovsky (1890) and the merchant Gadalov (1904). As noted in the document, today 38 percent of the city’s historical heritage sites require conservation work – this number is planned to be reduced by 19 percent by the anniversary year.

The implementation of the program to prepare for the celebration of the 400th anniversary of Krasnoyarsk is scheduled until 2028 with the possibility of extension until 2036. Investments in preparing the regional capital for the anniversary will amount to over 700 billion rubles.

Recall that Krasnoyarsk was founded by the chieftain Andrey Dubensky as a fort in 1628 near the confluence of the Kacha river and the Yenisey. Now it is the largest city in Eastern Siberia.
