The Arctic regions, where 2.5 million people live, are implementing new investment projects worth 35 trillion rubles, said the head of the Russian Far East Development ministry Alexey Chekunkov at parliamentary hearings of the Far East and the Arctic Development committee in the State Duma, TASS reports.
The politician emphasized that the economic future of the country depends on the implementation of these investment projects in the Far East and the Arctic. It is impossible to implement these projects without personnel.
According to the deputy prime minister Yury Trutnev, 568 billion rubles of private investment have been invested in the Arctic. 242 enterprises have been commissioned. 16 thousand jobs have been created. Prime minister Mikhail Mishustin emphasized that state support in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation made it possible to launch a thousand projects worth 2 trillion rubles from private investors.
