#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The V jubilee municipal festival-competition for families Reviving the Native Language Through Everyone and Each has launched in the Taimyr capital, celebrating the 95th anniversary of Taimyr and the International Decade of Indigenous Languages.
The event took place at the Taimyr Oykumena artistic and ethnographic complex, where participants and guests enjoyed performances from cultural and language guardians representing five indigenous peoples of Taimyr. Attendees experienced national songs, traditional dances, and an interactive program filled with games and competitions conducted in the native languages, as reported by the Agency for the Development of Northern Territories and Support for Indigenous Minorities of the Krasnoyarsk Region.
Special attention was given to children, with games and excursions to traditional northern dwellings organized just for them. The kids had the opportunity to learn about the culture, cuisine, and traditions of the Dolgans, Nenets, Nganasans, Evenks, and Enets.
The festival-competition will continue throughout the year. Initially, there will be competitive rounds in educational institutions to identify the best experts in their native languages and cultures. Following this, participants will compete at the municipal level, with the final contests set to take place in December.
