#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The UAV-based ice reconnaissance complex has been successfully tested in the Arctic. The uniqueness of the tests is that the drone took off and landed on the platform for helicopters of a drifting nuclear-powered icebreaker. This was reported in the Northern Sea Route (NSR) Directorate.
The experts assessed the operation of the aircraft on-board systems, geolocation, ice conditions images transmission.
Maxim Kulinko, deputy director of the Northern Sea Route Directorate of Rosatom State Corporation, told TASS that the complex is one of the elements of the NSR digital ecosystem, which the company is creating. In addition to the drone, it will include a unified platform for digital services, a data fund and onboard measuring systems.
The digital ecosystem will improve the navigation safety, as well as the economic efficiency of maritime transportation in the Arctic. It is planned that the system will be created in 2024, and in 2025 it will be fully put into operation.
Earlier, we reported that Rosatom plans to build 15 floating nuclear power plants in the Arctic.
