#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Krasnoyarsk Hvorostovsky arts festival, dedicated to the legendary opera singer Dmitry Hvorostovsky, will be held from October 16 to November 2.
The event will be officially opened on the famous baritone’s birthday, October 16, by his close friend Ildar Abdrazakov. Famous romances and Russian folk songs will also be performed for the audience at the opening.
A special event in the program will be an exhibition at the Krasnoyarsk state art museum named after V.I. Surikov. Visitors will be able to see works by artists of the 19th and 20th centuries. The exhibition will feature paintings from the collections of the State Tretyakov gallery, the State Russian museum, the All-Russian museum of A.S. Pushkin, and the Perm State art gallery, according to the official portal of the Krasnoyarsk region.
A bright accent of the concert program will be the performance of the Italian tenor Vittorio Grigolo and the winner of the International Tchaikovsky competition Zinaida Tsarenko on October 19.
On October 24, the State academic Bolshoi theater of Russia will present a concert performance of the opera La Traviata to Krasnoyarsk audiences for the first time, and on October 25, the Bolshoi theater symphony orchestra will perform an instrumental program under the direction of Pavel Klinichev.
The gala concert will be held on October 30 at the Krasnoyarsk opera and ballet theater – on the home stage of Dmitry Hvorostovsky. The festival program will be completed by a performance by the Mariinsky theater symphony orchestra. On November 2, it will perform on the stage of the Krasnoyarsk philharmonic under the direction of Valery Gergiev.
This year, the festival also includes an extensive educational program, with master classes held by stars of the world opera scene – festival participants.
