#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Taimyr folk song and dance ensemble of the peoples of the North Heiro presented the interactive program We are the Сhildren of the Arctic, which included the best creative performances of the group, reflecting the unique culture of the indigenous peoples.
The international multi-genre competition-festival Unity and Friendship of Peoples was held from July 5 to 11 of this year in the city of Gagra in Abhazia. The artists’ awards collection was replenished with five first-degree laureates’ diplomas and the Grand Prix of the competition.
The festival brought together 19 of the best creative teams from Kazakhstan, Abhazia and 15 regions of Russia. The participants presented 122 multi-genre performances. Their performances were evaluated by a highly professional jury, which included eminent figures of art and culture of Russia.
The team’s participation in the competition-festival took place as part of the implementation of the cultural-ethnic project “Sun of Taimyr”, supported by the government and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
Let us remind you that this year the Taimyr folk song and dance ensemble of the peoples of the North Heiro celebrated its 55th anniversary. In the Taimyr Museum of Local Lore, the exhibition The Taimyr Sun is 55! was opened for this significant event. Anyone can visit it; the exhibition will run until February 9, 2025.
In the section of the exhibition reflecting the Soviet period, you can see a copy of the order to create the ensemble, photographs of the first artistic directors – Vitaly Tselishchev and Alexander Koryukov, newspaper articles about the ensemble and much more. Materials about current events in the life of the ensemble (photos, award cups, documents on awarding the honorary titles People’s and Honored) were provided for the exhibition by the artistic director of the ensemble, Galina Chernysheva.
