#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The project will be a synthesis of various types of art: museum, theater, art, IT technologies.
The Taimyr local fund for the promotion of science, culture, education and sports Krasnoyarsk Arctic has won a grant for the implementation of the project Heroes of the Arctic: Love and Duty from the presidential fund for cultural initiatives.
“When developing the project, we set ambitious goals to attract public attention to the heroic feat of the pioneers – participants of the Great Northern Expedition, who were ready to sacrifice everything for the sake of serving the Fatherland and played a decisive role in the development of the northern territories of the Russian state! The red thread of the project will be the story of the participants of the Lena-Yenisey detachment of the Great Northern Expedition – Vasily Pronchishchev and his wife Tatyana, the first female polar explorer in the world, who went to the then unexplored Arctic together with her husband. The story of the love and feat of the Pronchishchevs will be widely disseminated. They can rightfully become the Arctic Peter and Fevronia, symbolizing family, love and loyalty”, say the foundation’s employees.
The project implementation will be a synthesis of various types of art: museum, theater, art, IT technologies. The Pronchishchevs’ tragic and at the same time heroic story of love and feat will form the basis of a museum performance, which will also become a kind of pioneer.
During the preparation of this qualitatively new museum product, the staff of the Taimyr Museum of Local History will work with archival documents, professional actors will be involved in the production, the scenery will be multimedia content in the format of living canvases, created on the basis of the artwork of a professional artist, who also visited creative Arctic expeditions, but in our time, Elena Ilyankova.
The performance will make its own journey: the premiere will take place in the cultural institutions of Dudinka and Norilsk, also near the place where the Pronchishchevs died – in the village of Hatanga, and then will go to conquer Moscow and St. Petersburg. The promotion of such an Arctic brand will be facilitated by the creation of mascots, souvenirs with the Pronchishchevs’ images, three-dimensional figures of Arctic explorers.
The project will be presented tomorrow, September 26, in the multimedia hall of the Taimyr Museum of Local History.
