#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Four Winds is a project that became a participant in the GR acceleration program for small and medium-sized businesses, organized by the Nornickel company. It received support from the World of New Opportunities charity program in the amount of five million rubles.
The new tourist center will work in several directions. Residents and guests of the city will be able to purchase themed souvenirs from local craftsmen, buy tourist tours from tour operators located on the territory, rent equipment and technical equipment to participate in tourist tours, and also take part in various events.
“I hope that in the future the Four Winds center will become an authoritative expert platform for cooperation between business, tour operators, craftsmen, representatives of government agencies and meetings with city guests. I think that the center’s activities will make traveling around Taimyr comfortable, safe, interesting and accessible. Such a partnership opens up many opportunities and prospects for the territory and its inhabitants. Good luck and prosperity to the center”, said Natalya Dunayeva, Nornickel Polar Branch’s charitable activities and corporate communities development department’s head.
The red ribbon cutting mission was entrusted to the Nornickel representative Natalya Dunayeva, the Four Winds tourist center owner Elena Dudchenko and the center head Maria Bykanova. Immediately after this, the first excursion took place around the tourist center and visitors had the opportunity to purchase a souvenir.
The Four Winds tourist center is already operating, and citizens can buy high-quality souvenirs from Norilsk designers here. Hoodies and T-shirts, windbreakers and sweatshirts, shoppers, badges and stickers, postcards and bookmarks, ceramic cups and saucers, board games and so on. Alexandra Poltavtseva, Oksana Yatsuk, Irina Bautina and Anastasia Surgutskaya presented their works.
“The Four Winds project was among the four finalists of the GR accelerator. At a meeting of the State Council of the Russian Federation, our project was recognized as one of the most successful and was recommended to regions for using in their territories. This means that our experience will be used for investment planning and development of municipalities and regions. Thus, communication between officials, deputies, businesses and residents of the municipality will be established and maintained. In turn, this will bring new opportunities for the territories’ development”, added Alexander Pestryakov, the Norilsk City Council of Deputies chairman.
The premises at the tourist center are cozy and multifunctional. For now, only souvenirs are traded there, but closer to summer, offers from local tour operators will appear in the center.
“We decided to make a tourist center that will become an aggregator of domestic tourist tours and thus support our travel organizations that organize various trips and hikes in the expanses of the North. We also invite local designers and craftsmen to post their collections. In addition, the center space is small but flexible. It can transform and change; it will be easy to hold events designed for a small number of people. For example, all kinds of safety briefings”, shared Elena Dudchenko.
The Four Winds tourist center is located in Norilsk at Leninsky prospekt, 47a, building 2. Phone +7-913-160-54-88.
