#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The number of tourists visiting the Murmansk region is growing by tens of percent every year, setting new records. According to preliminary data, in 2024 the tourist flow exceeded 700 thousand people.
“In the Murmansk region, in the fall of 2024, a sequel to the series The King and the Jester was filmed. Filming took place on the Rybachy peninsula and other locations in the Pechenga municipal district, and the series creators were extremely delighted with the views and what they filmed there. When the next story from the film universe of The King and the Jester comes out, we expect a new influx of tourists to the Murmansk region and the Pechenga district in particular”, said Svetlana Soldatova, head of the Center for Support of Film Production in the Arctic, writes the online publication kn51.ru.
Svetlana Soldatova noted that filmmakers have already released many stories on the big screen, inspired by their visit to the Kola peninsula. In recent years, several major film projects that were filmed there have been released on Russian screens. These are the TV series Barents Sea, Vezet, full-length feature films Velga, On the Exhale, Fog and others.
Earlier, This Is Taimyr reported that Nornickel is investing in a tourist cluster on the Kola peninsula.
