#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The captain of the nuclear icebreaker 50 Let Pobedy Ruslan Sasov told about the details of the evacuation of traveler Fedor Konyukhov from the drifting ice floe. His camp almost went under water.
“The most important task was to remove him from the ice floe. When we were already approaching the camp, the ice floe was, so to speak, floating separately. There was water all around, a strong wind, 17-18 meters per second”, the captain said in an interview with TASS.
He noted that the time for evacuation was limited. In order to save Konyukhov and his station, they had to use the help of volunteers from among the Arctic tourists traveling on the icebreaker to the North Pole.
Earlier we reported that Konyukhov broke his own record at the pole.
