#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Famous traveler Fyodor Konyukhov, who has flown over the Russian Arctic, is going to break his own record for the distance and duration of a balloon flight. Recall that recently the extreme sportsman, together with the Aeronautical Sports Federation of Russia president, Ivan Menyailo, flew in a balloon from Kirovsk to Hatanga.
The aeronauts covered 2 540 kilometers, which is 174 kilometers more than the Japanese pilot Michio Kanda did in 1994. However, according to Fedor Konyukhov, the Americans are planning to beat the Russians’ world record.
To get ahead of his rivals, the extreme sportsman decided to fly five thousand kilometers from Kirovsk, Murmansk region, to Chukotka and “drop the subject”.
Earlier, Fedor Konyukhov made a flight in support of the Clean Arctic project, and also spent ten days at a drifting station, where he studied the ice movement and painted pictures.
