Expeditions to remote villages will take place this and next year.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In autumn 2023 – spring 2024, specialists from the Taimyr House of Folk Art will go on historical and ethnographic expeditions to the Hatanga and Dudinsky regions of the peninsula to study the traditions of the indigenous peoples of Taimyr.

The plans include communication with the elders, collection of costumes, ethnography. In an interview with TASS reporters, Svetlana Petunskaya, the chief curator of the Taimyr House of Folk Art fund, noted that information is used to study culture and publish folklore materials.

Recall that five ethnic groups live on the peninsula: Nganasans, Evenks, Enets, Nenets and Dolgans. Scientists have recently attributed Enets and Nganasan to very small peoples.
