#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. On August 10, guests and residents of the polar capital are invited to take part in events dedicated to the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples. The main venue for the celebration will be the Taimyr Attraction square.
On this day, flowers will be laid on the graves of Taimyr honorary citizens, representatives of the public and the Taimyr Indigenous Minorities association.
Then guests of the event will be welcomed at the ethnic camp Taimyr Oikumena, where, according to tradition, the fire of friendship will be lit, symbolizing the unity of the large family of Taimyr ethnic groups.
And after the grand opening ceremony of the holiday, a concert program awaits northerners. Active guests will be able to visit a sports ground for national sports. During the entire event, shopping arcades, a fair will be open and master classes will be held.
At the same time, northerners will be able to visit the national farmstead Taimyr Nomads in the Taimyr House of Folk Art.
The City Center of Folk Art will host an exhibition of decorative and applied arts which can be visited until August 31.
Residents of rural settlements of the municipal district will celebrate the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples with concert programs, folk festivals and competitions in national sports. Thematic exhibitions and exhibitions of decorative and applied arts, competitions of national clothing and dishes of the indigenous peoples of Taimyr, master classes and intellectual and game programs are also planned.
