#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Bone carvers of the city Folk Art Center Vyacheslav Beti, Voldemar Yamkin and Andrey Porotov presented their skills at the international exhibition and competition of bone carving art North Soul in Novy Urengoy. 50 bone carvers took part in the exhibition, including honored artists and the Russian Artists Union members, as well as leading masters from China, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Mongolia, Dudinka official website reports.

Following the results of the creative competition, bone carver Vyacheslav Beti won 3rd place and was awarded the title of Laureate of the Bone Carving Art Works Competition within the International Exhibition and Competition of Bone Carving Art North Soul – 2024. Andrey Porotov got the special prize in the Animalism category.
It should be noted that in total more than 320 works were presented to the jury, carved by the contestants from mammoth tusk, walrus tusk, deer and elk antlers, and cow bone. In addition, over the course of three days, the craftsmen created new works on the themes: Inspired by the North, Man and the Arctic and Overcoming, and everyone could take part in master classes on making souvenirs, jewelry and amulets. The bone carvers donated their works created during the competition to the Novy Urengoy Museum of Fine Arts.
