#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Norilsk administration has signed two contracts for the celebrating sites construction. Ice figures will appear on Theatre square, near the Youth center, near the mayor’s office and other official buildings, as well as near the Zapolyarnik stadium. The compositions will be dedicated to the main character of the year – the Wooden Green Dragon – and fairy-tale characters. Their production will require 700–800 ice blocks.
The central Christmas tree from Komsomolskaya street will move to Theatre square, where the main festive action will take place with the participation of characters from the fairy tale Alice in Wonderland carved from ice. Norilsk residents will “read” this fairy tale while going through the labyrinth.
“A large spruce and ice compositions will be exhibited at the Zapolyarnik stadium. This time there will be no holiday installations on Komsomolskaya street: the snow town will return here only after this area is prepared and landscaping is carried out”, said Anvar Nizamutdinov, head of the capital repairs and construction department of the Norilsk administration.
In the central district of Norilsk, last year’s illumination will be used – it was updated on the eve of the previous winter holidays.
