The regional agency for the development of northern territories will work on proposals received from reindeer herders.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Specialists from the agency for the development of northern territories and support of indigenous peoples of Krasnoyarsk region visited reindeer herding farms in the Nosok, Tuhard, Hatanga and Dudinka tundras.

Experts counted domestic reindeer and took part in the vaccination campaign.

“All employees lived in tundra conditions, in tents, ate tundra food, and experienced the life of nomadic reindeer herders. Communication with reindeer herders also had a positive effect – proposals were accepted into the work, which we will definitely study”, explained the agency head Anton Narchuganov.

Let us remind you that reindeer herding farms receive subsidies for each animal. In addition, each reindeer herder receives 11 700 rubles monthly, as well as chooms (tents), first aid kits, kerosene, and communications equipment. The authors of northern initiatives will purchase deer and hunting husky puppies using a regional grant. Nornickel invested 1.3 billion rubles in support of the indigenous peoples of Taimyr.
