#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Taimyr municipal district creative delegation will take part in a large-scale event – the First Women’s Forum of the Russian North, Siberia and the Far East. It will be held from 5 to 7 June at the Tauride Palace in St. Petersburg.
The forum will be attended by indigenous peoples representatives from 28 Russian regions – government bodies employees, public leaders, entrepreneurs, representatives of science, education, creative industries and women who are engaged in traditional folk crafts.
The forum business program includes plenary sessions, strategic and expert sessions, discussion platforms, state, private and business dialogues, business breakfasts and master classes. Taimyr women will present Nganasan and Dolgan costumes, Svetlana Zhovnitskaya will make a presentation on the Taimyr indigenous peoples languages preservation and development.
The forum’s purpose is to strengthen the women cooperation in the implementation of projects aimed at developing the northern territories, preserving the North, Siberia and the Far East peoples culture and traditions. The forum will be held at the initiative of the Association of indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East and under the Eurasian women’s forum council auspices. The general partner is Sahalin Energy LLC.
Recall that the Nganasans are considered the most ancient northern people of Eurasia, and the Dolgans were called tundra aristocrats for the beauty of their clothes. Earlier, the Taimyr people presented the indigenous peoples culture at exhibition center VDNH in Moscow. We also talked about the visiting project of the Taimyr Museum of Local Lore in Norilsk.
