#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The third season of the socio-cultural project Norilsk is a City of Cultured People was announced at a meeting in the general and preschool education department of the Norilsk administration.
As a reminder, the project started in October 2022 and is aimed at Pushkin card holders: schoolchildren (aged 14 and over) attend performances at the Norilsk theatre based on collective requests from teachers, and after watching, they discuss the production with actors and directors.
Important topics are discussed in live informal communication, but in addition, children learn to express their emotions, empathy, expand their horizons and creative potential. The results of the project are summed up annually at the end of the current academic year based on the activity of schools/classes attending performances and their participation in discussions. The most active are awarded the title of The Most Cultured School in Norilsk”and a cash prize.
“This year, students from many Norilsk schools came to theatrical performances using the Pushkin card, and then discussed what they saw with the actors and directors. Dialogues about art continued in school classes and theater clubs”, the theater explained.
The awards ceremony was called Pushkin and Two Guys from 9b Form: participants in school theater clubs, under the guidance of teachers and theater artists, prepared excerpts from various works by Alexander Pushkin. On stage, in front of the audience, the schoolchildren performed a single act, which was a creative journey through the pages of the great poet’s works.
In October, the Norilsk theatre offers 16 performances that students from 14 years old can attend as part of the project.
