#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. At the end of September, the family community Yidyna from Hatanga, as part of the Housewife grant project, opened a culinary bar to introduce values of national culture through cooking to the younger generation. Ten eighth and ninth grade students from the local boarding school, mostly girls, participate in the newly formed Northern Souvenir club. Culinary skills are taught by Anna Fedoseyeva.
Having dressed in special clothes and lit a fire in the stove, the children diligently follow all the instructions under the mentor’s guidance. Over the course of their training, they have already learned how to chop meat and separate it from the bone. In addition, the list of young chefs’ skills includes preparing pancakes, flatbreads, oatmeal, fish dishes and liver cutlets.
“I love to cook and I do it with pleasure. Apparently, the children feel my attitude towards cooking and always come to classes in a good mood. Most of all, we love to cook our national Dolgan dish – katarba pancakes”, noted Anna Fedoseyeva.
