#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. PJSC Rostelecom and JSC Atomenergoprom of the Rosatom State Corporation entered into an agreement on long-term cooperation and interaction in the field of digital development of remote and hard-to-reach regions of the Russian Federation.
The partnership emphasizes the importance of developing the waters of the Northern Sea Route, adjacent territories and the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation as a whole. As part of their joint activities, the companies plan to carry out the design, construction and subsequent operation of information and telecommunications infrastructure to provide reliable communications to coastal facilities of the Northern Sea Route, industrial clusters, including rotational camps, as well as electricity generation facilities. In particular, communications are necessary to equip low-power nuclear power plants. The first such station is already being built near the village of Ust-Kuiga in the Republic of Saha (Yakutia), reports the PJSC Rostelecom’s press service.
The scope of cooperation between JSC Atomenergoprom and Rostelecom includes the provision of services based on cloud technologies, equipment placement services, as well as the creation and implementation of comprehensive information digital platforms.
“This agreement is an important tool for achieving goals in the field of digital development of remote and hard-to-reach regions. The joint efforts of both parties will help implement projects in this area, including ensuring communications between the villages of Teply Klyuch and Ust-Kuiga”, emphasized Kirill Komarov, the Rosatom State Corporation’s first deputy general director – director of the development and international business unit.
