#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The exhibition of graphic works by Krasnoyarsk artist Nikolay Salnikov City on the Yenisey was opened in the art gallery of the Norilsk museum and exhibition complex. The small exhibition in the foyer was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the author’s birth and the 90th anniversary of the Krasnoyarsk region formation.
Nikolay Salnikov (1924–1982) is a talented graphic artist, known far beyond the Krasnoyarsk borders. He was born in Kuban, at the age of 18 he went to the front and fought until the Victory. After the war he lived in Dudinka for several years. A number of the artist’s graphic sheets are dedicated to the Arctic and the indigenous peoples of the North.
Nikolay Salnikov created in different techniques: linocuts, etchings, lithographs, watercolors, pencil drawings, and book graphics. The master became famous for his plot and landscape engravings depicting nature and the industrial development of Siberia.
The collection of the Norilsk museum presents ten graphic works by the master.
The exhibition will be open until August 25 in the foyer of the art gallery on Talnahskaya street, 78, daily.
