#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The RAS expedition Clean Arctic – East – 77, in the course of work to preserve the culture of indigenous peoples of the North (INM), published books in the Nanai, Dolgan, Sami and Tofalar languages.
Expedition for Books is engaged in the search and preparation for publication of collections in the languages of the indigenous peoples of the North. During the six months of the expedition, more than 50 texts of publications were found, and four books have already been published in large required editions”, said the expedition’s acting head Dmitry Belov.
Literature in the Nanai, Dolgan, Sami and Tofalar dialects will replenish the Moscow Arctic library No. 77, where Russia’s first scientific department of publications in rare languages operates.
It should be noted that Clean Arctic – Vostok – 77 is the largest expedition in terms of the participants number among continental high-latitude scientific ones in the entire history of Northern research. One of its many tasks is the study and preservation of rare northern languages.
Earlier, This Is Taimyr reported that the Clean Arctic – Vostok – 77 expedition’s chief pilot traveled alone from Novy Urengoy to Norilsk.
