Birds saving campaign launched in Krasnoyarsk region

November 14, 2024

The region residents will make houses for birds.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The traditional environmental campaign Save Birds – Save Forests has started in Krasnoyarsk region. Specialists, together with the region residents, will make and hang bird feeders and nesting boxes with food for birds in nearby forests, the Krasnoyarsk region’s Nature Ministry’s press service reported.

Quests, excursions and lectures for schoolchildren will also be held in Krasnoyarsk districts, they will tell and show the children what types of birds winter in our region, how to help birds survive the cold season.

“The campaign starts annually on November 12, on Titmouse Day. According to legend, tits brought good luck, and their behavior could predict the winter. So, if birds gather near houses, then the winter will be frosty, and if near bird feeders – expect snowfalls. If the birds burst into song, then the weather will please with the sun”, the regional Natural Resources Ministry commented.

In addition, from November 12 to December 15, 2024, residents of the region can take part in the children’s drawing competition as part of the campaign.

Earlier, we reported on what to feed city birds in winter.
