#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Nornickel company initiated the grand opening of the Family Year in Taimyr – the idea was supported by the regional Association of the Krasnoyarsk Region North’s Indigenous Minorities, the district administration and all settlements of the municipal region.
The celebration took place in the Hatanga cultural and leisure complex. Representatives of all four settlements of the peninsula – Dudinka, Dikson, Karaul and Hatanga – greeted their fellow countrymen online.
“The big fire of the Taimyr family hearth was solemnly lit on the screen, while on the stage and in the hall the small lights of the Hatanga family hearth, which became part of the common one, were symbolically lit. It was very beautiful”, said the Hatanga cultural and leisure complex.
The head of the Nornickel’s department for work with indigenous peoples of the North Anfisa Nikiforova launched the Family Year in Taimyr – the company representative warmly congratulated the northerners on this significant solemn event.
“This evening, many of the Hatanga and nearby villages respected families are invited to the Hatanga Culture House stage. Among them there are large families as well”, said the organizers.
Different generations’ representatives in national clothes took the stage: elders, mature, young, children and babies, who sat in the arms of their mothers and fathers. Each family spoke briefly about themselves.
Words of greetings and gratitude, poems and songs were sung for them. All families received valuable gifts from Nornickel.
“We also talked about the youngest Hatanga resident, a baby Artyom by name, the first newborn this year. He completed the family of Alexander and Anastasia Usmanov. Little Artyom received a gift to commemorate the Family Year”, explained the cultural and leisure center’s officials.
