Astafyev works’ fans to get gifted

An exhibition of illustrations to the writer’s works is opening at the Taimyr museum.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The exhibition opens on November 15. Visitors will be able to see the works of the Siberian School of Xylography of German Pashtov. The exhibition’s main theme is the Siberian writer’s life and literary heritage.

The Moment and Eternity Beyond the Arctic Circle exhibition was prepared jointly with the Krasnoyarsk House of Arts as part of the Krasnoyarsk Artists’ Traveling Exhibitions project in Arctic cities. The exhibition is dedicated to the great Siberian writer Victor Astafyev’s birth’s 100th anniversary, which is celebrated this year.

As reported by the museum, visitors will be able to see German Pashtov’s Siberian Xylography School works. The xylography school association includes artists who graduated from the Krasnoyarsk State Art Institute and the creative workshop of the Russian Academy of Arts in the regional capital.

The main theme of the exhibition is the life and literary heritage of the Siberian writer. The artists will present color and black-and-white engravings in the technique of end-grain and edged woodcuts. The exhibition will include illustrations to Victor Astafyev’s works.

The exhibition will run until March 23 next year.
