#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Now on the portal of the Northern Territories Development and Region Indigenous Minorities Support Agency, a new subsection – In the Languages of Indigenous Minorities – has been opened in the Northern News section, where articles in the Nganasan and Evenki languages have already been posted.
The users of the site will be able to read materials in the languages of indigenous peoples living in our region every week. The materials’ authors are correspondents of the Taimyr and Evenki Life newspapers, who actively write in their native languages.
“The main goal of this project is not only to draw attention to the languages and indigenous peoples’ cultures preservation, but also to create conditions for their development, so that these unique languages continue to live and sound”, the agency head Anton Narchuganov commented on the initiative.
The materials are also duplicated on the agency’s official pages of the social networks VKontakte and Odnoklassniki.
